In December 2019, Saudi Arabia hosted one of the world’s largest EDM festivals. The energy was infectious. It really felt like we were witnessing a historic moment in the history of the country. Many of the Saudi DJs we had come to know well were moved to tears because they couldn't believe this was actually happening in their country and that they didn't have to play in fear and terror anymore.  I was there co-producing and shooting this VICE documentary.
